Proceedings Brief
Global Conference of Meditation Leaders 2026

April 3–5, 2026 | Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi

Global Conference of Meditation Leaders (GCML)2026 - Summary Report

At the Global Conference of Meditation Leaders (GCML) 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from April 3–5, policymakers, corporate leaders, healthcare experts, scientists, educators, and meditation masters from across the world came together with a shared vision — to establish meditation as a foundational pillar for leadership, public well-being, and conscious governance.

The conference commenced with a pre-conference Vision Day (April 3rd), setting the context for inner transformation and conscious leadership. This was followed by the main conference on April 4th and 5th, which formed the core of GCML 2026 — featuring powerful keynote addresses, high-impact panel discussions, scientific presentations, real-world case studies, and deeply experiential meditation sessions.

Across these three days, the conference presented a compelling and unified message:
meditation is no longer a personal or optional practice, but a scientific, scalable, and essential capability for individuals, institutions, and societies.

In his keynote address, the Chief Guest Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, emphasized that many of today’s global and societal conflicts stem from the loss of inner peace. He highlighted meditation as a powerful means to cultivate awareness, clarity, and emotional balance — enabling individuals to respond with wisdom rather than reaction. Stressing its importance for youth and society, he noted that meditation strengthens self-mastery and harmonious living. Quoting timeless wisdom that “meditation lights the lamp within,” he reinforced that inner transformation is the foundation for building a peaceful and conscious world.

The conference brought together distinguished global voices — including spiritual masters, policymakers, scientists, and practitioners — who collectively highlighted how meditation enhances clarity in leadership, emotional intelligence, resilience under pressure, and ethical decision-making. Through diverse sessions, a strong case was made for integrating meditation into governance, education systems, healthcare frameworks, and corporate leadership models.

A major highlight of GCML 2026 was the strong emphasis on the scientific validation of meditation. Research presentations and neuroscience insights demonstrated meditation’s measurable impact on brain structure, emotional regulation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. These findings positioned meditation as a credible, evidence-based solution to address rising global challenges related to mental health, lifestyle diseases, and decision fatigue.

The conference also showcased scalable, real-world implementations through the initiatives of the Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation — including Project Excellence (leadership transformation), Project InnerEdge (youth development), Project Meditation Awareness (global outreach), and Applied Meditation Research. These initiatives demonstrated how meditation is being systematically embedded across institutions and communities, creating measurable impact at scale.

Another key focus of the conference was the national and global scaling of meditation. Thought leaders highlighted pathways to integrate meditation into public health systems, educational curricula, workplaces, and governance frameworks — supported by research, technology, and structured training ecosystems. The discussions reinforced that meditation can serve as a first line of preventive well-being, complementing existing systems while strengthening overall human potential.

A defining outcome of GCML 2026 was the collective resolution, adopted in the closing session, calling upon governments, institutions, and organizations worldwide to integrate meditation into policy and practice. The resolution underscored meditation’s potential to enhance emotional intelligence, improve brain health, strengthen social harmony, and support sustainable development — making it both implementable and measurable at scale.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all distinguished speakers, meditation masters, policymakers, scientists, facilitators, and participants whose presence and insights made this conference a truly global and transformative platform.

Our sincere appreciation to all partners, collaborators, sponsors, and donors for their invaluable support in bringing this vision to life.

We also extend our special thanks to the media and communication partners, whose efforts helped amplify the message of meditation to a wider global audience, enabling the reach and impact of the conference beyond the venue.

Our deepest gratitude to all Buddha-CEO leaders, PSSM masters, volunteers, and organizing teams, whose dedication, service, and commitment ensured the successful execution of this conference.

We remain forever grateful to Brahmarshi Patriji for his vision and inspiration, and to Padma Shri Dr. D. R. Kaarthikeyan for his continued guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support.

Detailed proceedings of the conference will be made available on the official website for wider dissemination and reference.

We also invite you to be a part of our flagship initiative — the 40-Day “Excellence through Meditation” program, designed to help individuals experience clarity, emotional balance, and conscious growth through simple, scientific breath-mindfulness practices.

A peaceful world begins with peaceful minds.

Day 1 – Meditation, Science, Holistic Living & World Peace
(Apr 4, 2026)

Day 1 explored the intersection of meditation with science, health, consciousness, and leadership.

Inaugural Address by Conference Chair: Meditation – A Pathway to Solving Global Challenges

by Padma Shri D. R. Kaarthikeyan Former Director, CBI; Former DG, CRPF, Govt. of India

Padma Shri Dr. D. R. Kaarthikeyan opened the session by reflecting on the difficult state of the world today, marked by wars, natural disasters, intolerance, and rising challenges among youth such as drug, alcohol, and gadget addiction. He noted that innocent lives, including those of children and women, are being lost in conflicts, highlighting the urgent need for inner peace in society.

He emphasized that meditation offers a simple yet powerful path to reconnect with the divine within. Describing meditation as something that can be practiced “anytime, anywhere,” he referred to it as “ATM – Anytime Meditation.” Unlike ritualistic practices, meditation allows individuals to turn inward and discover their inner master.

He encouraged people to cultivate good thoughts, respect for nature, and harmonious living, emphasizing that spreading meditation is now a collective responsibility to help build a healthier and more peaceful world.

Message from Ministry of AYUSH

by Dr Kousthubha Upadhyaya Advisor - Ministry of Ayush, Govt of India

Dr Kousthubha Upadhyaya highlighted the role of meditation within Ayurveda and traditional wellness systems.

He spoke about meditation from the perspective of Ayurveda and traditional wellness systems, emphasizing that meditation is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. He explained how practices such as focused awareness and disciplined posture help calm the mind and support mental and physical health.

He explained that meditation has long been recognized as a fundamental practice for maintaining both mental and physical health. Through posture, breath awareness, and focused attention, individuals can calm the mind and develop deeper awareness of the self.

From Inner Transformation to Global Peace – The Science of Meditation

by Dr Chandra Pulamarasetti Founder & Chief Meditation Mentor, Buddha-CEO Quantum Foundation

This session explored how inner transformation through meditation can influence personal well-being and contribute to global peace. The talk emphasized that many societal conflicts and stresses originate in the human mind, and therefore lasting solutions must begin with transforming individual consciousness.

Meditation was presented as a practical method to cultivate clarity, emotional balance, and self-awareness, enabling individuals to respond to life’s challenges with greater calm and wisdom. By quieting mental noise and observing thoughts without reaction, practitioners can gradually shift from habitual stress patterns toward more constructive and compassionate responses.

The session also highlighted the importance of making meditation simple and accessible, allowing people from different backgrounds and professions to incorporate it into daily life. When practiced consistently, meditation can improve decision-making, strengthen resilience, and support healthier relationships in both personal and professional environments.

The broader message was that collective peace begins with individual transformation. As more individuals cultivate awareness and inner stability through meditation, these qualities naturally influence families, organizations, and communities, creating a ripple effect that can contribute to greater harmony and cooperation at a global level

Meditation as the Heart of Yoga – The Need for Faster Adoption

by Padma Shri Dr H. R. Nagendra, Founder & Chancellor, S-VYASA University

Dr. H. R. Nagendra explained meditation through the philosophy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, highlighting the journey from distraction to concentration, and ultimately to meditation (dhyana) and higher states of consciousness. He described how the mind evolves step by step—moving from scattered thoughts to focused awareness, and then making a “quantum jump” into deeper levels of consciousness.

He emphasized that meditation is not separate from yoga, but its very core—enabling integration of body, breath, and mind. Through meditation, one experiences expansion, lightness, creativity, and a deeper understanding of life beyond the physical.

He also highlighted the growing need for meditation in today’s world, especially for mental health, emotional balance, and inner stability. Ultimately, he shared that meditation leads us toward moksha—a state of freedom, harmony, and higher awareness—while also helping build a more conscious and peaceful society.

Scaling Meditation Nationally for Physical and Mental Well-being

by Dr Vinod Paul Member, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India

Dr. Vinod Paul of NITI Aayog spoke about the importance of scaling meditation nationally as a public health and societal wellbeing intervention. As yoga has become widely practiced around the world, he emphasized that meditation now stands at a similar moment where it can be scaled systematically to reach every individual.

He highlighted that India’s existing institutional infrastructure—including schools, healthcare systems, community networks, and over 187,000 AYUSH health centers—can help integrate meditation into daily life.

Dr. Paul outlined seven key steps to scale meditation effectively:

  1. Identifying amplifying teachers in the medical and wellness ecosystem who can integrate meditation into healing practices.

  2. Building capacity among physical education teachers, yoga instructors, mental health professionals, doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists to teach meditation.

  3. Developing authentic, standardized learning materials that are validated, accessible, and scientifically grounded.

  4. Expanding outreach through community mobilization, brand ambassadors, and social media platforms tailored to regional needs.

  5. Strengthening scientific research to establish large-scale evidence on meditation’s benefits.

  6. Leveraging technology and digital platforms to make meditation accessible globally.

  7. Using AI‑enabled personalized tutors and learning systems to guide individuals through meditation practices.

He concluded that scaling meditation would be a great service to Bharat and that meditation should increasingly become a “first line of prescription” for wellbeing before medical intervention becomes necessary.

Meditation as Awakening

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati ji

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati ji spoke about the paradox of modern life, where despite technological progress humanity is increasingly distracted, anxious, and disconnected.

Drawing from her personal journey from Los Angeles to Rishikesh, she described meditation as a shift from the “Hollywood mindset” focused on external success and identity to the “Himalayan mindset,” rooted in awareness of the soul and consciousness.

Meditation restores attention, balances the nervous system, and helps individuals rediscover their true nature. She emphasized that meditation is not separate from life but transforms how we live and relate to the world.

Ultimately, meditation becomes a social responsibility, because transforming individual consciousness contributes to transforming society.

Power Talk 3: The Neuroscience of Meditation: Insights from Brain Research (Online)

by Dr Sara Lazar Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA

This session explored the scientific understanding of how meditation influences the brain and overall mental well-being. Research using advanced brain imaging techniques shows that regular meditation can lead to measurable structural and functional changes in the brain.

Studies indicate that meditation increases gray matter in regions associated with learning, memory, emotional regulation, and empathy, including the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. At the same time, activity in the amygdala—the brain’s stress and fear center—tends to decrease, helping individuals respond to challenges with greater calm and resilience.

Even short-term meditation programs, such as eight weeks of consistent mindfulness practice, have demonstrated noticeable improvements in attention, emotional balance, and self-awareness. Long-term practitioners also appear to maintain healthier brain structures as they age, suggesting that meditation may help slow aspects of age-related cognitive decline.

The research highlights meditation as a form of mental training that strengthens neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to adapt and change. By cultivating awareness and emotional regulation, meditation not only improves mental health but also enhances compassion, clarity, and overall well-being.

Workshop: "Conscious Relationships & Conflict Resolution" & Stillness Practice

by Dr Newton Kondaveti & Dr Lakshmi Kondaveti Chairman & Vice Chairman, Quantum Life University, Hyderabad

Explained how relationships act as mirrors reflecting unresolved emotional patterns.

Through meditation and self-awareness, individuals can move from reactive behavior to conscious connection, transforming conflicts into opportunities for growth.

Pre Conference Workshop: Spiritual Tablet: A Holistic Approach to Psychosomatic Healing

by Dr Gopala Krishna Founder and Chairman, Spiritual Tablets Research Foundation, Manchester UK

At GCML, a thought-provoking session introduced the concept of the “Spiritual Tablet,” a holistic framework for understanding psychosomatic health. The session highlighted the deep connection between the mind and body, explaining how chronic stress can lead to hormonal imbalance, weakened immunity, and eventually physical illness. Illness, it was emphasized, is often not merely physical but a signal from the soul, indicating emotional or spiritual imbalance.

The Spiritual Tablet approach focuses on restoring harmony through meditation, positive thinking, healing environments, and conscious living. Practices such as meditation to strengthen awareness and thought power, spending time in nature, pyramid meditation, healing sounds and colours, positive speech, and decluttering stagnant spaces were discussed as ways to support wellbeing. Group meditation was also highlighted for its ability to harness collective consciousness.

The central message was clear: when spiritual awareness is strengthened, emotional balance improves and physical healing naturally follows.

Swami Chidananda Saraswathi Ji described meditation as a transformative force, calling it the best medication for the soul. Unlike an instant solution, meditation acts like a magic wand that anchors us during life’s ups and downs and prepares us for the future. He encouraged the practice of the “3H” principle—Happy, Healthy, and Harmony.

He stressed that meditation must be practiced daily, describing it as a journey from doing to being. Ultimately, he reminded the audience that life is not about having more, but about being more, sharing more, and caring more, and that while money may bring palaces, meditation brings peace.

Address by Hon’ble Vice President of India

Quoting the sage Thirumoolar, the Vice President reminded the audience that

“Meditation is like lighting a lamp within, leading us to truth and peace.”

Dr. Aditya Gaitonde and Dr. Rima Dada highlighted the powerful connection between meditation, yoga, and modern science, emphasizing their measurable impact on both mental and physical health. They recommended meditating before making important decisions, as moments of silence help improve clarity and intuition.

They explained that the purpose of yoga asanas is to create the right body geometry for proper breathing, which naturally prepares the mind for deeper meditation.

Scientific research published in leading journals shows that meditation and yoga can improve cellular health, enhance mitochondrial function, and positively influence DNA, including sperm DNA, suggesting potential benefits across generations. Studies also indicate that meditation may help achieve molecular remission in autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and support neuroplasticity, improving learning, memory, and attention while reducing stress-related brain activity.

Further research suggests meditation may influence gene expression and epigenetic pathways, potentially slowing the migration of cancer cells in laboratory settings. Regular practice activates beneficial genetic programs that support resilience and overall health.

The speakers stressed that many modern health challenges stem from lifestyle factors such as poor diet, lack of exercise, and digital overload. Practicing 20–30 minutes of yoga or meditation daily can enhance concentration, reduce stress, and significantly improve well-being—especially for younger generations.

Conscious Youth Development

Case Study: Nurturing Conscious Youth - Case Studies from Project Inner Edge and Jagruth Yuva

Smt Alekhya Shastri CEO, PMC Hindi by OneMedia Network, Smt Sujatha Sriram Founder, Chandrasekhara Mahapyramid Meditation Center, Anakapalle, Shri Nakul Agrawal Mystic, Yogi, Social Change Maker

This session highlighted initiatives focused on nurturing emotionally resilient and conscious youth through meditation, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning. With India having over 265 million school-age children, addressing youth well-being has become a critical priority. Many adolescents face rising emotional challenges, while schools often focus mainly on academics, leaving key life skills like emotional regulation, stress management, and reflective decision-making underdeveloped.

The Jagritva program, a 12-week curriculum integrating mindfulness and social-emotional learning for students, teachers, and parents, demonstrated measurable impact. In its pilot phase across 16 schools, student well-being improved by around 12%, depression indicators reduced by over 16%, and mindfulness scores increased by 19%.

Speakers also shared grassroots stories of transformation. Educator and Founder, Chandrashekhara Pyramid, Mrs. Sujata Sriram works extensively with rural children, emphasizing love, gratitude, meditation, and connection with nature to nurture values such as honesty and selfless action. Her programs help children develop confidence and life aspirations.

Another initiative led by youth volunteers trains teachers and college students to conduct weekly meditation and awareness sessions in schools, reaching tens of thousands of children. These sessions have helped young people process trauma, build emotional resilience, and develop clarity about life purpose.

Together, these initiatives show how inner development practices can transform education and nurture future conscious leaders.

Through consistent meditation practice, they described experiencing states of stillness and deeper awareness that helped shift their perspective from worrying about problems to finding constructive solutions. Meditation was highlighted as a powerful tool for developing emotional balance, clarity in decision-making, and the ability to remain anchored during periods of uncertainty.

The discussion also emphasized that self-discovery should not take decades; young people should be introduced early to practices that help them explore fundamental questions about identity, purpose, and inner strength. Meditation techniques and mindfulness practices were described as simple yet powerful methods for cultivating awareness and transforming both personal and professional life.

Speakers also reflected on the power of intention and manifestation, sharing how focused thoughts and clarity of purpose can influence outcomes. Ultimately, the panel underscored that calming the mind through meditation enables individuals to move from conflict to clarity, helping them lead with greater wisdom, balance, and compassion in organizations and communities.

GCML 2026 Resolution

Towards Holistic Living and World Peace

The conference concluded with the adoption of a collective resolution recognizing that violence and negativity originate in the human mind, and therefore lasting peace must also be cultivated within the mind.

The resolution emphasized that meditation offers a practical, scientific, and inclusive pathway to holistic well-being and global peace, with research presented at the conference demonstrating its benefits for emotional regulation, mental clarity, and overall wellbeing.

Just as India successfully brought yoga to the global stage, meditation now stands at a similar moment of global relevance. While yoga strengthens the body and nervous system, meditation works directly on the patterns of the mind, addressing the root causes of stress and conflict.
Leaders from governments, education, healthcare, business, and civil society were encouraged to support meditation initiatives that foster peace, harmony, justice, and sustainable prosperity through inner transformation.

The resolution reaffirmed the conference’s central message: a peaceful world begins with peaceful minds.

The resolution called for:

  • Simplified meditation protocols

  • Expanded scientific research on meditation

  • Integration of meditation into education systems

  • Adoption of meditation in healthcare and workplaces

  • Global collaboration to expand meditation initiatives
