A day of visit to Rishikesh and surrounding key energy places for meditation and feeling the energies of Ganges, from Apr 12th 2pm to 13th 1pm.
Overview
In the sacred stillness of the Himalayas, on the banks of the timeless Ganges near Rishikesh, this intensive 6-day meditation retreat invites sincere meditators into a profound inner journey.
Held in a serene ashram called Auro Valley (www.aurovalley.org), surrounded by forest and mountain silence, this retreat is designed for those who are ready to go beyond a habitual meditation practice into sustained, transformative immersion.
Participants meditate for 8–10 hours daily in noble silence. Meals are simple and minimal one nourishing main meal and two light fruits/servings supporting clarity, lightness, and inwardness. The days unfold in silence, contemplation, guided inquiry, and a daily wisdom talk with the master, along with a dedicated Q&A session.
This is not a retreat for beginners. It is for those who already have some grounding in meditation and feel a genuine call to deepen to sit longer, observe more steadily, and enter the inner emptiness where true understanding dawns.
As Ramana Maharshi said:
“Silence is the most powerful teaching.”
This retreat is an immersion into that silence.
What Participants Do
Each day is unstructured and allows for depth:
-
8–10 hours of seated meditations
-
Extended periods of noble silence
-
Contemplative self-inquiry practices
-
One hour of Q&A for clarity and guidance
-
One daily wisdom discourse by the master
-
Simple, mindful eating
-
Rest periods integrated consciously
The meditations may be in multiple although the emphasis is to go longer in a sitting, guided and/or non-guided, with music and / or in silence. Meditations start early each day or spaced out as the individual feels. They are more in tune with the moment.
There are no phones, no social interactions beyond what is necessary, and no external stimulation. The emphasis is direct experience not theory. In this sustained stillness, something shifts.
What Happens in Deep Sadhana
When meditation extends beyond comfort, beyond habit, beyond the restless mind, several natural unfoldings occur:
-
You begin to understand something essential about yourself — beyond personality.
-
Past memories and emotional patterns dissolve or lose their grip, leading to deeper healing.
-
You realize how little the ego truly knows — and how life has always been unfolding intelligently.
-
A deeper surrender emerges — not as passivity, but as trust.
-
Moments of profound peace, spaciousness, or bliss may be experienced.
-
The sense of “I” may become minimal, revealing a vast field of awareness beneath it.
As Gautama Buddha taught, liberation begins when one sees clearly the nature of mind and impermanence.
And as Adi Shankaracharya pointed toward:
“Brahman alone is real; the world is appearance.”
Such insights, born of meditations and silence, become experiential understandings and are not merely intellectual. This is where knowledge becomes wisdom.

A Return to the Essential
